1. Who we are
Franchise Sellers, Ltd. (“Franchise Sellers”, “we”, “us”) is a franchise brokerage and business valuation firm based in Colorado, serving clients nationwide. We help owners of existing franchise businesses sell them, help qualified buyers acquire them, and help buyers explore new franchise opportunities. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website and related online forms, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
This policy covers franchisesellers.com and its subdomains, including buyers.franchisesellers.com (buyer registration) and the forms embedded on our pages. It also covers information you send us by email or phone in connection with our services.

United States businesses. We represent businesses located in the United States, and this policy is written to United States law.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
Contact and enquiry forms. Your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write in a message field, plus the page or campaign that brought you to us.
Opinion of Value questionnaire (sellers). Your contact details and information about your business: its location, operations, staffing, lease, franchise relationship, and financial performance. If you email or upload supporting documents (for example financial statements, tax returns, a franchise agreement, a lease, photos or videos), we collect those documents and the personal information they contain.
Buyer registration. Your name and the names of any additional contacts, email address, phone number, mailing address, the states and industries you are interested in, and the amount of cash you have available to invest, which we use to qualify you for introductions to sellers. After you register, we ask you to sign a non-disclosure agreement before you receive confidential information about a business.
Downloads. When you download a guide or whitepaper, we ask for your name and email address, and on some forms your phone number, first.
Correspondence. Emails, phone calls and text messages exchanged with you.
Information collected automatically
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, how visitors arrive, time on page, and which pages lead to enquiries. It collects your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page and timestamps, and sets cookies so returning visits can be recognised. Google explains its own handling of this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Advertising measurement. We use the Google Ads conversion tag and the Meta Pixel. They record that your browser visited particular pages or completed a form, and report that activity to Google or Meta, which may associate it with your Google, Facebook or Instagram account if you have one. We use this to measure whether our advertising brings in enquiries and to show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. Meta also collects your IP address, browser information and the page you viewed, and sets cookies (for example _fbp).
Spam protection. Our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which collects hardware and software information (such as device and application data) and sends it to Google to tell people from bots. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Server logs. Our web host records standard access logs (IP address, requested page, time, browser) for security and troubleshooting.
3. How we use information
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the service you asked for (a valuation, a listing, an introduction to a business for sale)
- To qualify buyers for confidential information about a business, and to prepare and manage non-disclosure agreements
- To market a business for sale on a seller’s behalf (see section 5 for what is and is not shared)
- To send you information about businesses that match your stated interests, when you have asked for it
- To send marketing email about our services, market updates and new listings, with an unsubscribe link in every message
- To measure and improve the website and our advertising
- To protect the site from abuse and to meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations
Our lists stay ours. Whether you contact us, register as a buyer, download a guide or sign up for our emails, we use your contact details only to respond to you and to send the messages that match the preferences you chose. We never sell, rent or trade our contact lists.
Marketing choices. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time through the link in any message or by emailing support@franchisesellers.com. Unsubscribing does not affect messages about an active enquiry or engagement.
Text messages. We send text messages only to people who have agreed to receive them. We use them mainly to help buyers complete registration, sign the non-disclosure agreement and receive information about the listings they asked about, and occasionally to keep sellers informed about their engagement. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of doing business with us. We do not share your mobile number or your text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
Sale and sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use advertising cookies and tags (Google, Meta) that share information about your visit with those companies for measurement and targeted advertising, which some state privacy laws treat as “sharing” or “targeted advertising”. Section 4 explains how to opt out.
4. Cookies and tracking choices

5. Who we share information with
Service providers who process information on our behalf under contract, only for the purposes above:
- Website hosting and security providers
- The systems we use to manage client relationships, forms, email and text messages
- Google (analytics, advertising measurement and reCAPTCHA) and Meta Platforms (advertising measurement and remarketing), as described in sections 2 and 4
- Business email, document storage and video-meeting providers
- Credentialed appraisers who prepare detailed and comprehensive valuation reports when you order one
Confidentiality of seller information. We treat every seller’s information as fully confidential unless the seller tells us otherwise. The public advertisement for a business shows only what the seller has approved, and where we do not know a seller’s preference we err on the side of caution and share less. A seller’s identity, financial records and other confidential information go only to registered buyers who have signed a non-disclosure agreement and met any qualification the seller has set, and only as the seller has agreed.
Buyers and franchisors in a transaction. Buyer information (your registration details and financial capacity) is shared with a seller, and with the franchisor where the franchisor manages or must approve the resale, only after you have signed the non-disclosure agreement and with your prior approval.
Business-for-sale marketplaces. We advertise listings on third-party business-for-sale websites. Those sites collect information from buyers who enquire there under their own privacy policies before passing enquiries to us. We do not place a seller’s personal information on those sites.
Referral partners. Where a referral relationship exists, we share only what is needed to make or confirm the referral, and we introduce you to other professionals only with your agreement.
Legal and corporate. We disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, and in connection with a sale, merger or reorganisation of our business.
We do not share your information with any other company for that company’s own marketing.
6. Social media and platform connections
We run company pages on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X. Our internal tools connect to those platforms through their developer interfaces only to publish our own posts, respond to comments, and read the statistics the platforms provide about our posts and pages. We do not use those connections to collect your personal information beyond what the platform shows us about interactions with our content, and we do not sell or share any platform data. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own privacy policies.
7. How long we keep information
We keep enquiry and marketing contact records while you remain in contact with us and for two years after our last interaction. We keep records of engagements and transactions, including valuation files and signed agreements, for seven years after the engagement ends, in line with tax and professional record-keeping requirements. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it longer or a dispute is open.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to receive a copy, or to object to or restrict certain uses. You can also withdraw marketing consent at any time.
California residents. You may request to know what personal information we have collected about you, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
How to make a request. Email support@franchisesellers.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line, or call 800-499-4280. We will verify your identity using the contact details we hold and respond within 45 days. You may use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf if you provide signed permission.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS) on the website, access controls on our systems, and confidentiality agreements with the people who handle client information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, contact us at once.
10. Children
Our website and services are for business owners, buyers and professionals. They are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Links to other sites
Our pages link to other websites, including franchisor sites, marketplaces and industry resources. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them information.
12. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new effective date. For material changes we will add a notice at the top of this page and, where we have your email address and the change affects how we use your information, we will email you.
